Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia left Ghana on Thursday October 18 to attend the Ghana Investment and Opportunities Summit in London.

 

The two-day summit on October 23 and 24, on the theme “Mobilising for Ghana Beyond Aid”, is organised jointly by the Ghana High Commission UK and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).

It will showcase Ghana as a leading investment destination in Africa, and aims to ensure that the government gets the right strategic partnerships and investments to support flagship projects. It will also match local businesses with international partners and investors.

Prince of Wales

Large global firms, venture capitalists, private equity fund managers, investment bankers and other business leaders from across the globe are expected to take part.

Gatherings on the sidelines of the summit will provide networking opportunities for potential investors and government officials alike.

During the summit Dr Bawumia will meet in Westminster with the UK Secretary for International Development, Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt MP, as well as leaders of British industry, and attend a reception hosted by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

The Vice-President also delivers a lecture today on Ghana’s digitisation towards the Beyond Aid agenda at the School of Oriental and African Studies.

On Saturday, the Vice-President met members of the Ghanaian community in the UK. He will return to Accra on Thursday.
