DR DANIEL ASARE APPOINTED KORLE BU CEO

Health & Lifestyle

The board of directors of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has appointed Dr Daniel Asare as the new chief executive officer of the hospital.

The board of directors of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has appointed Dr Daniel Asare as the new chief executive officer of the hospital.

This follows the exit of Dr Felix Anyaa, who was relieved of his position by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, together with some CEOs of other state institutions, in June this year.

Information available to the Daily Statesman indicates that Dr Asare was appointed the new CEO at a board meeting last week Friday.

We are also reliably informed that the board will meet with key groupings within the hospital to introduce the new CEO to staff today, after which a press briefing will be held to introduce him to the general public.

Dr Asare, who is currently the CEO of Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, is a former medical director at the Ghana Health Service.

He is a product of Dwamena Akenten Secondary School, from where he went to the Sunyani Secondary School for his Six Form. He was trained as an Otorhinolaryngologist at the West African College of Surgeons. Dr Asare also studied tropical diseases at the Kalinin State Medical School in Russia. He further studied Health Systems at the Leeds University in the United Kingdom.
