NPP OKAYS 41 ASPIRANTS TO BATTLE FOR 8 SLOTS

The National Elections Committee of the governing New Patriotic Party has approved the nominations of 41 aspiring national executives.

The National Elections Committee of the governing New Patriotic Party has approved the nominations of 41 aspiring national executives.

The approval paves the way for contenders in the political fray to battle for the eight positions during the party’s impending national annual delegates conference slated for Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

A release signed by Evans Nimako, Secretary to the National Elections Committee, said the committee had “thoroughly vetted and satisfied itself that these aspirants have met the qualification criteria set out” by the National Executive Committee of the party.

Those approved for the position of National Chairperson are Freddie Worsemawu Blay, acting National Chairman, Dr Richard Amoako Baah and Stephen Ayensu Ntim.

Emmanuel Ken-Wuud Nuworsu, Rita Talata Asobayire, Michael Omari Wadie, Vida Agyekum Acheampong, F.F Antoh, George Isaac Amoo and Agnes Chigabatia have also been approved to contest for the position of National First, Second and Third Vice Chairpersons.

According to the release, aspirants for the position of General Secretary are John Boadu, acting General Secretary, and Richard Ahiagbah.

Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah, Kwame Oppong Frimpong, Mary Posch-Oduro, Hajia Ruka-Ahmeed, Abraham Obeng Amoakohene, Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama are also billed to contest for the position of National Treasurer.

The release added that those approved for the position of National Organizer are Sammi Awuku, Tweneboa Kodua Emmanuel and Sulemana Sadik Nabicheinga.

Additionally, Henry Nana Boakye, Kamal-Deen Abdulai, Emmanuel Nana Bediako Appiah and Dominic Kwesi Eduah have been also received the green light to stand for the National Youth Organizer position.

Madam Kate Gyamfua and counterpart Joyce Konokie Zempare also have the consent of the National Election Committee to battle for the National Women Organiser position.

The position of National Nasara Coordinator has the highest number of aspirants. they include Abubakari Sulemana, Alhaji Rashid Adam, Ahmed Zaruk Nuhu, Iddrisu Abdulai Dipantiche, Alhaji Shuaibu Musah Sheriff and Baba Gado Ibrahim.

The rest are Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, Dauda Abdul Rahman Duodu, Alhaji Aminu Abu, SulemanaAlhassan Atakpo, adul-Rahman Diallo, Kazeem Ibrahim, Salihu Yahaya Bo and Ali Suraj.

The statement re-echoed the rules of the election to the various aspirants, urging them to conduct their campaigns to conform to decency and laid down regulations of the party’s constitution.
